GROUP THERAPY + THE FRAY

27TH SEPTEMBER // FRIDAY
GROUP THERAPY & THE FRAY

It's been so long since my cousins and I met up in full force. The last time we did was exactly a year ago on the 21st September 2012. I remembered the date, cause that day was so dear to me.

It's amazing how everything just fell right into place on that day. Everyone ended early & the timing was just perfect.

We decided to check out this cafe called Group Theraphy. A little hard to find, but I would say it was worth the experience. Of course naturally these sort of cafes would burn some holes in your pocket, so be prepared with a couple dollars more.

Our journey hunting down the place.
and there's so many beautiful landmarks around that area. who would have known?

Of course, we had to do a little exploring around the area as well.

and we soon found the place!

The menus were on clipboards, so I found them really classy in a vintage touch. Though with no pictures, it really makes you actually think while reading the descriptions.

my lovely girls

I would say that we got one of the best seats in the house. Seated directly by the window of the 2nd storey building, we got natural lighting by the sunlight.

We even got a nice backdrop. Perffff

My favourite humanss!

& iTS FOOD PICTURES TIME!!
Mine came first.
I got the Belgian-Styled waffle: $12

Sam got the Spinach & Feta Roll: $11
Elinur got the Pistachio & Cranberry Scone: $4
Syiq got the 4-Layer Carrot Cake: $8.5
& finally Syahirah got the Organic Granola & Muesli Bowl: $11
Our food. Let's just say that we created quite a lot of fuss in taking the photos. Lol
and the chips you see in the bowls are some sort of nachos but organic ones.

I'd say that I am generally pleased with my food as I would with any other waffles. But the company makes it better.

We then went into this cool looking store. I think it's called Littered with Books. I'm not sure
But they have a vast amount of books. Up till the 2nd floor.

So after exploring around, we decided to walk to Suntec. But somehow we ended up at the Marina Bay area.
And somebody heard songs by The Fray aired out loud. We saw this little tent all the way across and we realized The Fray was having a concert then and there!

So we walked all the way there wondering if we could get in. If you guys saw the ads on youtube about 'Are you Bold enough?' by Guinness's Arthur, this was the event they were celebrating. The concert was in the open of a grass field, so we ran to the backstage area to find that it was clear screened. Of course we went bonkers, like crazy people we ran and screamed right behind them and plus the fact that there weren't anyone there.

After a couple of seconds of our crazy charade, we realised we got lasered by someone guarding the area. Though after awhile, more people started to come by and the guard probably gave up.

I think this is probably the best view I ever had for a concert even though, we saw everything from behind.

The lead singer of The Fray, Isaac.
woohoooo!

Okay, so here's the story. Among the other people standing backstage with us, we were the craziest and noisiest. I was literally jumping and screaming and flailing my arms out wide. Definitely not something I would've anticipated doing on our catching up outing.

We initially aimed on waving on at least one guy from the band each time they turned their heads. But we got more than that. At one point I eye contacted the pianist, then I got shy. Lol but I still waved and he waved back.

I was insanely hyperactive that day. Like I am not kidding. I was crazily wild that day. I don't know why but I was so happy just jumping, with my arms up and partially screaming and mumbling song lyrics. I can't remember the last time I was this loose and happy. I guess I kinda needed this escape for quite awhile. I am generally a really shy person. So it's not often I let myself loose.

For one of the songs, Over my head, Isaac turned and waved at us. For that we were like whoaaaaa. Actually screaming la. Then he stood up on one of the speakers I think, then he walked towards the back of the stage. We were all like 'omg, he's coming here!!' And he did!! He put his hand on the clear screen, to like hi-5 us! I was just jumping there trying to reach the hand but I failed lol. But it's okay, hahaha. We were all just screaming our heads off. The fact that he came to our area meant that we made an impact on him.

hahahaha, sighs in happiness at the memory.

The aftermath.

AND WE GOT A PICTURE WITH JOE KING. I GOT TO HUG HIS WAIST!!
HE IS DATING CANDICE FROM VAMPIRE DIARIES WHICH TECHNICALLY MEANT THAT WE TOUCHED THE WHOLE CAST.

BEST. DAY. EVER OF 2013.

Also, The part where The Fray waved at us were all caught on tape. So behold the video coming soon!

p.s. I changed my blog theme. I like it. I think it's a nice change for now.
