Cultural & Arts

Finally a proper update. I feel like the past couple of days have been a rather cultural and arts kind of days.
& you'll see why.

 7TH JULY  //  SUNDAY

 MUARA FESTIVAL

I recently went on down to Esplanade - Theatres On The Bay to support dancing elsa for her performance alongside with TTNP, the group that I performed with during Gentarasa.

That day also consisted of many other cultural malay dance groups showcasing their performance. It was interesting to see how different groups showcase themselves. Though I would say one of the highlight would be when the glass lamp/bowl dropped & shattered. Lol, my heart was racing with excitement.

Must have been a nice experience to dance by esplanade. Though the scorching heat makes me rethink otherwise.
Went to watch with Fatan. Dina came along midway.

Sorry we didn't go down and take photos with you. Cause we didn't know....lol (slenge)
But here's a shot of elsa doing her solo
We pretty much stayed there watching people dance the entire day till like 11pm.
My back was sore from having to sit there for hours, but I'd say it was a really nice experience seeing all the cultures collide. Eventhough it was mainly my culture...

9TH JULY  //  TUESDAY
MY FIRST RECITAL

So the cousin asked me to join her to support her friend for a musical recital in school. I had no idea TP had such an auditorium. It reminded me of Tampines Primary's Blackbox, if you guys know of it. The event itself is called 'My First Recital'.

Anyway the recital was a really small & intimate event. There were probably about 20 people or less. This recital consisted of a piano performance, choir & some opera-ish singing. I really don't know the outlandish words they used to describe stuff but that's how I'd put it.

The songs were mainly from the Classical, Romantic & Baroque era which I actually learnt for a semester in Music back in Poly. I'm not big on the songs but it was interesting. I particularly liked the choir segment. The harmonization was pretty amazing (take note poison cherries) eventhough I have no clue over the words they used. I'm guessing it was french.

Of course. French and music always comes together so well.

My cousin's friend I was talking about. She did like a couple of solos where she sang all those old opera-ish songs. I liked the broadway-ish dance song that she did for the encore.
After the show. Of course I just had to butt my face into their class photo. (They're all classmates)

we were from ikea thus that large thing in her hand. Not mine though.

 I don't get her poses....

quite busy eating with food in my mouth...
Also, I'm quite glad that I smuggled food into the recital. We pretty much were nomming our way throughout the entire thing. & the biscuits that I got from ikea were amazinggg! sooo goood! It's a sandwich kind of biscuit with chocolate in between & at the top centre is chocolate, shaped in a heart.

It's called 'Kakor Choklad'. I'm guessing polish language. & it was on sale by the counter for only 1.50
Try it if you guys happen to be there. There's testers by the counter!!
I'm kinda craving for one now.

In other news, HAPPY FASTING TO ALL MY MALAY FRIENDS!!

bye guys!

Time to eat now! (okay maybe I have to wait for another 5 minutes or so..)
